Control of Contained Chemical Substances REACH

In recent years, increasing emphasis has been given to environmental consciousness in corporate activities as an effort to sustain and improve the global environment as well as that of Japan. Fuji Electric Systems has also developed a basic environmental protection policy to reduce the environmental impact at every stage in the areas of procurement, production, and disposal.

On the other hand, laws and industry standards, such as the European REACH regulations, GADSL, and JIG, have come into effect as international regulations on chemicals. In response to such developments, we also issued guidelines (first edition) on contained chemical substances in our semiconductor products in October 2008.
We have recently reviewed prohibited and controlled substances, and survey formats, etc. in response to the revisions to the laws and industry standards as of December 2009, and issued a revised second edition (Ver. 2) in January 2010, so please take the time to confirm these amendments.
The guidelines include details specific to this project, and accordingly take priority over the Fuji Electric Group's Green Procurement Guidelines for Applications.

We would like to thank you in advance for your kind understanding of our new guidelines, which will be used to avert and reduce the risk of hazardous substances mixed into parts and materials and to control the amount of chemical substances, and for your continued cooperation with our green procurement activities.
